If you are a current Newcastle College student and successfully meet the published Level 3 entry criteria in an appropriate subject[s], you will be guaranteed a place on this course.      

Applicants are normally expected to have achieved grade 4 or higher in GCSE Maths and English Language or the Level 2 equivalence (i.e. Functional Skills or Adult Literacy/Numeracy).

Throughout this degree you will become highly skilled in this specialist area to achieve your Foundation Degree and ensure you are prepared for employment in advanced make-up. The course is supported by industry specialists and practitioners, working alongside brands such as Kryolan and LCN, as well as guest speakers from the industry who will provide valuable knowledge on how to make relevant connections in the business.

English and maths are vital skills in the media and semi-permanent make-up industry, whether you are measuring correct eyebrow positions or working out ratios for life casting mix. We are embedding those skills within your programme to ensure you have opportunity to enhance your skills.

Once you have successfully completed this course you could progress your studies onto our BA (Hons) Advanced Skin Techniques (Top-Up) degree or alternatively you can enter into employment or start a freelance business. This make-up degree will help you develop the skills to pursue a range of roles at managerial level in the theatrical and media make-up industry as well as semi-permanent make-up clinics and self-employment.
