Teaching
You will be based at our Newcastle School of Education (NSE) which has an excellent reputation for teacher training and professional development. It is one of only ten Centres for Excellence in Teacher Training in the UK. So you know you will be in safe hands.
You will be taught by experienced tutors who have spent many years working in the education sector as teachers and education professionals.
A range of teaching specialisms are available, such as Numeracy and Maths and Special Educational Needs as well as CELTA and DELTA qualifications so you can teach English as a Foreign Language.

Training, Assessment, Quality Assurance (TAQA) - Level 3
This Training, Assessment, Quality Assurance (TAQA) course is perfect if you have a strong vocational subject knowledge and want to gain an assessor's Level 3 qualification. This may be student or employee focused.
Length: 3 hours per week for 4 weeks

If you are currently working as a qualified assessor but want to become a Level 4 verifier, this Training, Assessment, Quality Assurance (TAQA) course will get you there.

Award in Education and Training (AET) - Level 3
This Award in Education and Teaching course is a great introduction to teaching and is ideal if you are looking to find out more about the sector before undertaking further teaching qualifications.
Length: 4 hours per week for 12 weeks

Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) - Level 5
CELTA is ideal if you would like to teach English to adult speakers of other languages and want to get qualified in a short amount of time.
