Law and Criminal Justice Studies - Level 3

This is a two year course that leads to a Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Applied Law and a Level 3 Certificate in Policing.

Level 3 BTEC National Certificate in Applied Law / NCFE Level 3 Introductory Certificate in Policing

• 4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above

including:

• 1 Grade 4 in English
• 1 Grade 3 or above in maths

Please note, with this pathway you will be required to resit GCSE maths.

Level 3 BTEC National Extended Certificate in Applied Law / NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Policing

• 6 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and maths

This is a two-year programme. You will receive an award after successful completion of each year.

In year one you will achieve a Level 3 BTEC National Certificate in Applied Laws well as an NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Policing.

In year two you will achieve a Level 3 BTEC National Extended Certificate in Applied Law as well as an NCFE Level 3 720 Diploma in Policing.

We will help you on your journey to work within the criminal justice industry and/or legal sector by providing you with the opportunity to work alongside a range of public, private and third sector organisations.

English and maths skills are vital in the criminal justice sector and legal profession, whether it is communicating with a client, calculating fines, drafting professional letters or providing evidence in court. We embed these skills into your course to ensure you have every opportunity to enhance your skills.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to progress to a range of related degrees and will be guaranteed a place on an FdSc Criminology, Policing and Criminal Law at Newcastle College University Centre.
